This course provides allied health clinicians with essential knowledge and skills to incorporate The Orthopaedic Sleeve into evidence-based protocols, optimising load management while maintaining functional movement. Participants will learn to identify appropriate patients, apply biomechanical principles, and ensure the safe and effective use of this device. By understanding clinical indications, fitting techniques, and patient education, clinicians will support faster recovery, reduce pain, and help patients return to activity with confidence using the Orthopaedic Sleeve.

This project and the insights you’ll explore throughout this course are a direct result of La Trobe University Industry-Honours Project. Working with their supervisors from La Trobe and Industry Partners at OPC Health, this project team have produced a suite of evidence‑informed resources, including; 🔹 A comprehensive literature review on RRD effectiveness 🔹 An evidence note on early mobilisation after transtibial amputation 🔹 Clinical practice guidelines to support consistent RRD application 🔹 Patient‑friendly infographics and education materials 🔹 A research protocol to guide future honours projects in this space This project demonstrates exactly what the Industry Honours Stream was designed to achieve: meaningful partnerships, authentic problem‑solving, and outcomes that contribute directly to better care and better patient experiences.

This course provides learners with an in-depth explanation of the Agilik™ hardware, software, and use of the Agilik™ Care App to facilitate optimized tuning and control of the gait cycle. It presents the programming and terminology related to phases of gait, timings, and other parameters associated with the Agilik™ system. It also explains how to review the data provided by the Agilik™ App, and how to address any issues that may arise in tuning. This course serves as a precursor to an in-person training with the SpryStep® Agilik™ Test Drive orthosis. We recommend completing the "Introduction to SpryStep® Agilik™" course, prior to undertaking this "Agilik™ Theory Fundamentals" course.
